I think the best people to talk about food and culture with are the locals. Thankfully, with a small bribe of chicken katsu/musubis/malasadas/kalbi beef, some of the locals were willing to sit down with me and chat about just that.
Or it could be because they love me and one of them lives with me? Evidence is inconclusive...
